Lolita Lempicka Eau de Desir

What is this?? A CENTER FOR ANTS?

How can we be expected to teach children how to read if they can’t even fit in the building??

But for realsies, what is this? LL Eau de Desir is a pathetic musky aquatic fragrance with no distinguishable notes, bearing no resemblance whatsoever to the glorious original Lolita Lempicka. This would be boring even for a masculine fragrance, but as a women’s fragrance it is inexplicable. The bottle shape is also inexplicable- why deviate from that adorable apple shape for what appears to be a mutant pear? This is the lamest fragrance that I have encountered in recent memory.

  1. I’ve learned that while I love the original LL, the others just don’t do anything for me which is a shame because I love the bottles — well, this is an exception, that bottle makes no sense whatsoever. I do want to try some of the ‘darker’ LL flankers though to see how those match up to the original.

In other news, my bottle of Gold arrived Saturday. I’ve been wearing it ever since trying to get a feel for the stuff. It’s lovely, though, and thankfully devoid of any of the virginal delicateness of so many lily fragrances. I don’t smell any Easter ham glaze, but there is something vaguely smokey. Honestly, it kind of reminds me of a Wake, something about the lily and the smoke. Then again, I first sprayed it on while I was using a soldering tool which somehow made it smell very frankincense-y. I want to layer this up with Avignon and see what I get. My inner closet Goth girl simply has to try it. Lol.

    1. I’m so sad!! Original LL and L de were so promising, but everything else from Lolita Lempicka has been quite a disappointment.

I’m so glad you like the Gold! Please report back on your layering experiment. Hopefully the Avignon would make it more Mass-y than Wake-y.
