Happy Thanksgiving from Scents of Self!

Scents of Self readers, there will be no post on Thanksgiving itself, and probably not tomorrow either. I hope that you have a wonderful holiday! Here’s what I’ll be giving thanks for this year. I would love to hear what you’re thankful for, too!

My itteh bitteh kitteh, Zelda Weinberg-Rosenberg

My family, from which I get short genes and big dreams (Drew’s there too!)

My very own bottle of the wonderful Guerlain Après l’Ondée

And finally, all of the wonderful friends I have met through perfume blogging!

Such as Paddington, The Candy Perfume Boy’s kitteh!

  1. I’m thankful for someone wise enough to realize that one of the most important things is gratitude. Happy Thanksgiving to you!

… I’m thankful for everything in my life.
I’m thankful for have the opportunity to learn so much, and to smile even in the worst moments.
For second chances, and for thirds.
For being able to share my optimism with those who are less fortunate.

… for all people around me
… and for those still to come (for instance, a new member in the family, my first nephew on next March! :))

  2. Lol, Ari, you have a crazy look in your eyes in that top photo… That’s kitteh love, if I’ve ever seen it! 🙂

Happy Thanksgiving to you! I hope you and your loved ones have a wonderful day.

    1. Okay, I have to share this story! This picture is from the first time I met Zelda in the shelter. I went to the shelter knowing that I wanted a Siamese, but thinking that since they were very expensive there would be no way I would find one. We had been through all the rooms of kittehs except for one, which we were told we wouldn’t be able to go in because it was being cleaned. But as we were leaving, a woman popped out and said, “Oh, do you want to see the kitties in here? There’s a little Siamese one!” I was so unbelievably excited, hence the crazy eyes!!!
I hope that you, your husband, and your kitteh have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

      1. That’s such a lovely story, Ari, no wonder you are so excited in that pic! You and Zelda were meant to be.

Have a lovely Thanksgiving with your loved ones.

      2. Thank you Tara, I hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well! If I hadn’t been so infatuated with Zelda, I might have stopped to think about why anyone would give up such an expensive cat (could it perhaps have to do with the fact that she was a bit of a handful?) Fortunately, I never stopped to think about it!

  3. Received my picture of Zelda today to join the rest of my kitty pals, and the sample of Bond no. 9 Eau de New York too. Thank you.

Things to I have be thankful for: as always, the company and support of fast friends and faithful family; living in a safe country which though economically sluggish has an effective social safety net and health care for everyone; and new for this year, falling into a community of fascinating, generous bloggers and commenters by virtue of getting curious late one night and googling a particular perfume (I don’t even remember which one now). What a wonderful time I’ve been having.

    Have a great Thanksgiving.

    1. The rest of the internet has such awful, vicious commenters that I have been truly impressed by the perfume corner of the internet. I am so happy to have you as part of it, and glad to hear that Zelda and Eau de New York finally reached you! Happy Thanksgiving!

  4. “by virtue of getting curious late one night and googling a particular perfume”

oh yeah…! I keep in mind that happy day I found this happy blog thanks to *Thèrese*! 😀

  5. I want a bottle of Apres L’Ondee now! Scurries over to Ebay… And a kitteh like Zelda. Charlie Bonkers is deaf, has a collapsed ear and a “floating chin”, and has seen better days, basically.

Happy Thanksgiving! Hope Zelda gets some fine turkey titbits as her modelling fee… : – 0

    1. Here is the best way to get your bottle of Après l’Ondee. First, you must go to New York. Second, you must tell me that you are coming to NY so I can come meet you. Then, you must stay in the Waldorf-Astoria hotel for at least one night. The WA has a Guerlain boutique in the lobby that stocks Après l’Ondee, and they offer a 20% off discount to hotel guests. DO IT. YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO.
Unfortunately Zelda will get no scraps because I had to leave her in Baltimore 😦 I’m on the train to see my family now, and they didn’t want her in the house (alleged allergies). I miss her already!!! I hope that you and Charlie Bonkers, chin and all, have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

      1. Thanks for the tip! – even factoring in return flights from the UK, that does sound a good deal cheaper than my Ebay…. ; – )

(Especially if I get to meet you as part of a transatlantic Apres L’Ondee-buying expedition. The value of that is impossible to quantify, obviously…)
