BRB!

Hey, remember that time when I had that wacky skin disease? Well, I still have it, only now it’s so much worse. Thankfully, I will be finally getting that mother biopsied tomorrow, but since the interwebz tells me that my arms may be too sore to do any writing for a little while after the biopsy, I will be taking a break from Scents of Self until next week. Thank you in advance for your patience- I will miss y’all!

Since I’m obviously not spraying any perfume on myself at the moment, let me live vicariously through you! What perfume are you wearing today?

  1. I really hope and wish this will not hurt and that the results will be good- keep my fingers crossed

    1. Thank you, Irina! I know that there will be a local anesthetic before the biopsy, so the actual procedure itself shouldn’t hurt too much. I’m just a little freaked out- I hate needles, and I’ve never had stitches before!

  2. Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that. I hope that the biopsy goes well and that the symptoms will abate. We’ll miss you!
Perfume of the day is Guerlain’s Vetiver (which is Pour! Homme! as the SA’s keep telling me, as if I care). I only have a tiny little 4ml bottle of it though, so I am rationing it, but it is my comfort, git-r-done scent, which I need today.

    1. Thank you so much, Selina! I just tried Guerlain Vetiver two weeks ago and thought it was wonderful (despite being Pour! Homme!!!!)

  3. Hope all goes well with the biopsy today and that you’re feeling better soon. Scent of the morning is 31 Rue Cambon.

    1. Thank you, Tatiana!! 31 Rue Cambon is one of the 3 Les Exclusifs that I still haven’t tried, but I’ve heard that it’s very beautiful.

  4. I hope everything will be as painless and successful as possible.

I’m wearing Amouage Opus II today (after reading the recent review on The Candy Perfume Boy I felt an urge to wear it again).

  5. Fingers crossed for a pain-free recovery. Today, I’m wearing TDC Sublime Balkiss. Not sure I’d call it sublime, but it is nice enough. Nothing I need to buy, thankfully!

  6. Eh! Suck! I’m sorry, chica; hope you feel way better soon! Medical care sucks but the alternative is worse.
I wore Londinium today, second day in a row, bc I’m working on a review (plus, I do love it). Then I put on some Bois d’Armenie to test when I got home, and I’m hissing at it. Fuck you, with your almondy play-doh note, Bois d’Armenie.
Also, I redid my toenails with a burgundy base and a red glitter overlayer, and now my toenails? Look like the Ruby Slippers.
HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON! BUT NO PRESSURE!

  7. So sorry to hear about this, I hope you will be on the mend soon! I’m wearing White Linen for a casual summer-hours Friday.

  8. Dear Ari — I hope everything went well yesterday. I’m sure Zelda is taking very good care of you (BTW, that’s the name my Grandma gave me — back a million years ago, we didn’t have “naming” celebrations as we do now). I’m wearing vintage Givenchy III and loving it.

  9. Hang in there, babe. You will get through it just mahvelous. (I had multiple issues with pregnancies, and kept having to have blood taken every time I turned around… what helped me was not watching the needle go IN. Once it was in, I was fine.)

Last day of school here – Bookworm’s head marshal (as a junior) for graduation this evening, and Gaze and Taz collected some nice academic & phys. fitness awards at school today. SOTD is Iris Poudre, such a treat!

  10. All the best with that – your tweet about your impending “wacky skin disease-related hiatus” must take the biscuit as unusual hiatus reasons go!
