Happy Thanksgiving from Scents of Self

Thank you to everyone who reads Scents of Self. I started writing this blog during my freshman year to distract myself from the fact that I was the absolute worst chemical engineer and was failing three out of my four classes. I had absolutely zero self-confidence at the time, and I tell you with all seriousness that I would not be graduating from college this year without the support and encouragement that y’all have given me.

Thank you for assuring me that my haircut is not that stupid.

Thank you for sending me wonderful perfumes and heart-wrenchingly adorable cat toys.

Thank you to all of my Twitter followers, who for some reason do not unfollow me even when I drunkenly tweet about Spirited Away for like two hours on a bimonthly basis.

Perfume may be frivolous, but the connections that we make through it are anything but. I am excruciatingly grateful for each and every one of you. I hope your Thanksgivings are as wonderful as you are.

  1. “Frivolity is the species’ refusal to suffer.” – John Lahr. So, frivolity is GOOD!

We are thankful for you and this blog. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

  2. Wishing you a very wonderful Thanksgiving, too! Thank you for finding the time in your busy student schedule to write this wonderful, witty and uniquely quirky blog.

  3. Happy Thanksgiving Ari! You look beautiful. It is a lovely thing following you as you continue to develop your sense of self :). I hope that my daughters will grow into lovely young women like you. You inspire me. 🙂

  4. Thank you for writing like you do and for being what you are- it’s so much fun
You look great and Zelda grew into a beautiful cat
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones
    and Happy upcoming Hannuka!

  5. I somehow missed the hair trauma Ari, but I think it’s going to do wonders for your self-esteem in the long-run. Apart from looking much better, the more you project your true self into the world the better off you – and we – will be for it. As scary as it is. It’s something I’m not managing to do half as well as you so keep dong what you’re doing.

    Happy Thanksgiving!
