This is some eleventh-hour shit, y’all! I ordered a sample of Guerlain L’Heure Bleue pure parfum for my 8 AM graduation ceremony tomorrow, and it was delivered on time, but to the wrong apartment building. I might still be able to sort it out in time, but I clearly also need a back-up.
So, my first thought was Neela Vermeire Trayee. When I posted that my brother was sick a few months ago, Neela sent me a little bottle of Trayee to comfort me. It was one of the most generous gifts I have ever received, and I consider that little bottle the jewel of my collection. My only concern is that Trayee could be a bit too much on a humid, 82 degree Baltimore day.
I desperately need your help! What perfume should I wear for my graduation tomorrow? What perfume did you wear for your own graduation(s)?

Don’t you have L’Heure Bleue EtD? I’d suggest just wearing that. Not as lovely as the parfum, of course, but at least it’s something in a pinch. Otherwise, I dunno if it’s too humid for it, but Yvresse is rather celebratory. Barring all else, get thee to Crystal City and you can borrow one of my perfumes.
My graduation? That was … 2004. So I was wearing one of the following: Lancome Tresor, Miracle, or Aroma Tonic. There was a trend.
Congratulations! L’HB may not be the best choice for a muggy, 82-degree day. My suggestion would be something refreshing. I don’t know if your tastes run to green/citrus, but my favorites for humid summer days are Cristalle, Neroli (Annick Goutal), or Lime Basil Mandarin. White Linen is a go-to as well. If those don’t seem festive enough, I second Klytaemnestra’s suggestion of Yvresse. Diorissimo is sparkly too. Have a wonderful graduation day!
I don’t know what I wore to my graduation! I think I only owned two perfumes at the time: the original Oscar de la Renta, and Burberry Week-end. So it had to be one of those.

I would go with Trayee as I love it desperately but if it maybe too much could you wear it on the backs of your knees, or walk through a spray in the air? Congratulations on your graduation and fantastically well done.

Congratulations! I’d go with the Trayee because well, it’s fabulous. I think a lot of scents really bloom in the heat so I don’t usually shy away from certain perfumes because of the temperature.
I’m with Poodle. I wore Trayee to work in the Washington DC mugginess the other day and it enveloped me without crushing me. Go for it. That was a lovely gift from Neela btw! Congrats on your success!
I’d go with the Trayee too, just apply delicately. Haven’t worn it in heat, but I think it would be fine – incense, especially the cool kind as I perceive Trayee, doesn’t overwhelm.
But then, keep in mind that I used to own a bottle of L’HB parfum and preferred it (again, dabbed delicately) in the summer, when the anise came out and the foody vanilla stuff stayed in the background.
