Daily Fragrance: Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt. Doesn’t smell like sage or sea salt. The most prominent note is actually the ambrette seed, making this a very pleasant, gently sweet skin scent. Very much in the Jo Malone tradition of Kate Middleton-y fragrances: pretty, if a bit unexciting. Try Chanel No. 18 for a real ambrette fragrance.
Daily Nail: Jin Soon Heirloom. I went full-on Gollum when I saw this polish. Yes, Precious… The color reminds me of those blue butterflies with wings like jewels. Some chipping after three days.
Daily Tea: Trader Joe’s Mint Melange Tea. The spearmint dominates. It’s not my beloved Trader Joe’s Candy Cane Green Tea, but it’ll have to do until the holidays come back around.

Wow, that nail polish! Like the metallic glint to peacock feathers or, as you mention, butterfly wings. Wow.
SOTD is Ralph Lauren Safari again. I think I am addicted.
RAIN. Rain rain rain rain.
I’ve never tried Safari! Is it the vintage you love, or will the current formulation do?
Um… not sure. I think it might be d/c now so all of it would be vintage-ish? I bought my bottles on ebay. (I did not like the parfum, which went very sweet in the drydown.)
That nail polish is pretty! I have an OPI shade that is kind of similar, called Mermaid to Order. I think it might be a bit lighter, though, now that I think about it.
You inspired me to order a discovery set from Sweet Anthem, so I’ve started going through the samples in the last couple of days. I’m wearing Anton today, which so far is one of my favorites. I’d never encountered horseradish and apple as a perfume note combo before, but I like it.
Judging by the online swatches, Mermaid to Order is very pretty and a little lighter. That Sephora OPI line had some nice colors.
I’m so happy you’re liking the Sweet Anthems, Jennifer! I haven’t tried Anton- horseradish in perfume sounds crazy, but good-crazy!
It is a good crazy. It’s pretty subtle, really. It just adds a little pungent tingle. Anton is also notable for containing an apple note that doesn’t just smell like shampoo. It’s more cider-like.
I’m glad I went for the discovery set. There are several in there that I like: aside from Anton, other favorites were Phoebe, Sophie, Madeline and Wendy. And there are still some on the website that weren’t in the discovery set that sound interesting.
Hey hey Arielle,
I am STILL wearing the same purple nail polish with glitter overlay, it’s been on for nearly a month, though I did notice in the bath tonight that there is a minor chip on my big toe.
Found a bag of Pumpkin Pie Tea by 52 Teas while cleaning the house which I am enjoying very much.
Wore no scent today, completely forgot. About to start writing a review though so there will be fragrance in my near future.
Portia xx
Goodness, I am out of touch with the latest Jo Malones! Truth to tell, I don’t get on with their fragrances with basil / bay in them – and now sage. Not too hopeful, but you’ve piqued my interest all the same.
