What Are Your Most Neglected Perfumes?

I was the kind of kid who played with her toys on a rotating schedule so that none of them would feel left out. (Exception: Spice Girls Baby Spice Barbie, who was exiled to the closet for being even creepier than most Barbie dolls.)

This is the last face you see before you die.

Apparently I’m a significantly less lofty-minded adult, because I definitely play favorites with my perfumes. Two scents in particular have gone unsprayed for literally months:

Guerlain L’Heure Bleue EDP: Once you go parfum, you never go EDP. Who could be satisfied with the plain old EDP after a taste of the exquisite parfum formulation? I wish I had never set nostrils on that $337 seductress.

Serge Lutens Santal Majascule: My last few boyfriends have been all about the light, clean perfumes: Atelier Cologne, Chanel 28 La Pausa, that sort of thing. No matter how sensual I find Santal Majascule’s chocolate-rose combination, it’s way too heavy for these uncultured barbarians. It’s like a fabulous piece of Agent Provocateur lingerie when he’d rather see you in one of his old t-shirts.

Okay, your turn: what are your most neglected perfumes?

The Perfume Blogger’s Purse: Graduation Edition

graduation

Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Hypoallergenic Face Towelettes. SOOTHING MY ASS. These burned my skin for about an HOUR after I used them. I’m only including them for historical accuracy.

Nintendo 3DS with Pokemon Black 2. My graduation present to myself! Not going to front like I didn’t catch a Pokemon or two during some of the longer speeches.

Neela Vermeire Trayee. My back-up perfume, and a gift from the truly thoughtful Neela Vermeire.

Neutrogena Dry Touch Ultra Sheer SPF 55. I AM GOING TO STAVE OFF AGING FOREVER UNTIL THEY INVENT CRYOGENIC FREEZING THIS IS DEFINITELY A FOOLPROOF PLAN

Guerlain L’Heure Bleue pure parfum. My graduation perfume. The very first perfume Drew ever complimented me on. I promised him that I would wear it so that he could be there in a small way.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Tube- Original. I have been waiting FOREVER for someone to figure out that the world needed a travel size version of UDPP.

UO Basics Collection Nail Polish in Sunshine. 99 CENTS AT URBAN OUTFITTERS. I repeat: 99 CENTS AT URBAN OUTFITTERS.

Nails Inc. Special Effects Sweets Way. I’ve been holding off on the “sprinkles” nail trend- it’s not terribly sophisticated, right?- but I think it’s okay for toenails not to be terribly sophisticated.

M.A.C. Blacktrack Fluidline. It was a joyous day when I first discovered that you could get a great gel eyeliner for $16 instead of Bobbi Brown’s $23.

Dior 1 Couleur Ultra Smooth High Impact Eyeshadow in Beige Print. Recently discontinued, for some hideous reason. The prettiest golden taupe in my makeup bag.

Rosebud Perfume Co Rosebud Salve in a Tube. I really prefer the texture of the original Rosebud Salve, but I also really prefer not having to stick my fingers into petroleum every thirty minutes.

M.A.C. Lustreglass Flashmode. I was originally planning to wear M.A.C Viva Glam I, but wimped out at the last minute and chose something more sheer.
